Trevor - for the blog, I have emailed already...

Have to check committments for that weekend as I recently remember Leamington Spa may be calling. Should we not be Midlands-bound then think we'd [yes, Geoffrey keen at this stage] lean toward Friday dept, although your idea of staggered arrivals seems perfectly workable.

Would have to be Friday for me - I've used up all my leave time already. Not sure about Le Wendy.

But we definitely will come (I should have said).

OK. Who's definitely in? Wendy, jd, me and Toni? I am all in favour of buying now. I'd prefer an apartment so if we can form ourselves into mass-minds with identical needs then all to the good. Groups of four/five with identical travelling requirements (smoking, etc.) is good. How many others for Thursday? If there's only two of us then I think I'm going to go with the Friday crowd.

OK- in the fast changing world of November weekend getaways: Geoffrey's nephews party has been scaled back to a small family do, so I get dispensation from that. I'm in for the trip but [and this is my nod toward cost rather than days away] I am just up for going out Friday, coming back Sunday. Easy about economical sleeping arrangments, smoking or non. K

Fare alert -- the sunday flight just dropped down to .01+tax so I'm getting a return ticket price for 46quid all in. Can I buy? Can I buy? Kev

BOOKED for Fri/Sun - 54.68 inc debit card fee and 1 checked bag fee for both flights
I know it's really getting down to the nitty gritty... but the budget airline policies, partic Ryanair, really make my blood boil. As Ryanair website now says you CANNOT carry on board any liquids/toiletries then that effectively means ALL baggage to be checked. If anyone wants to put their toiletries in my checked bag that's cool so you can carry on your bag and avoid the 7quid fee coming and going. Just a thought. -K

We've just booked our flights. Departure Stansted Friday 10th at 17:50 and return Sunday 12th at 22:00. Total cost inc. booking fee and one checked bag between us = £102.36. OK - who else is in on the Friday? Let's go apartment hunting!
